"BLACK BELT EXCELLENCE" is our goal.
To achieve a black belt takes four or more years of dedication, motivation and hard work. You must earn your black belt. A good attitude and consistent classes is only part of this goal.
Chief Instructor Shihan Tom Starr - 6th Dan of Starr's Black Belt Academy and United States Shihan Kai Organization is proud to announce his Black Belt Instructors:
Sensei Sue Starr - 4th Dan
Sensei James Bucci - 4th. Dan
Senpai Jeff Pelton - 3rd. Dan - Assistant Instructor of Greenville
Shihan would like to thank all the black belts for their commitment and
dedication as being good roll models and setting a good example for all other lower rank students.
Black Belts have many responsiblies. They must maintain their classes. They are required to be at two black belt promotions a year and must help and participate at least two Green/Brown belt promotionals. Each black belt is responsible for four evaluations:
Evaluation #1 - All Self-Defenses (Basics, Intermediate & Kumites)
Evaluation #2 - All Katas
Evaluation #3 - Weapons Kubudo (Katas and kumites)
Evaluation #4 - Advanced Self-Defenses
(Shodan - Advanced Self-Defenses 1-11)
(Nidan - Advanced Self-Defenses 1-11 both sides)

Congratulations to :
James Bucci - 4th. Dan - Yondan (Sensei)
Jeff Pelton - 3rd. Dan - Sandan (Senpai)
Jeremy Sawyer - 2nd Dan - Nidan
Aiden Grennen - 1st. Dan - Shodan
